About the foundation

With the last typhoon, Haiyan, the eye of the typhoon passed over the rural municipality of Daanbantayan and almost all houses were destroyed. Most humanitarian help from the large humanitarian organizations will not reach Daanbantayan, as these mainly focus on the populous areas.

The Daanbantayan foundation helps the people living in the rural municipality of Daanbantayan on the island of Cebu in the Philippines. We help people without means, friends and/or family which they can rely on.

The Daanbantayan foundation focuses on (re)building and maintenance of houses that were destroyed by natural disasters. In emergency situations we also try to provide basic necessities like food and water. Especially with natural disasters that are known in advance, food and water can be bought in advance and distributed when needed.

We work with volunteers who have a connection with Daanbantayan. The foundation specifically is not there to help family of volunteers. We focus on people without any means, friends and/or family (in- or outside the Philippines) to count on.
